The weather may not have held out for the 34th Annual E.H. Price Employee Golf Tournament, held May 28th, 2011 at South Interlake Golf Course, but that only made it even more memorable. The sold-out tournament kicked off under blue skies and sunshine, but by the time most teams were approaching the ninth hole rain and hail took over, blanketing the golf course in white.
The video below captures the day’s events, including the unpredictable Winnipeg weather.
Over the past few months, Price employees in Winnipeg have been volunteering with the Little Moose Hockey Program to give youth with limited opportunities the opportunity to learn how to play hockey. We are always happy to be able to help out in the community, and getting the chance to get out on the ice to teach youth how to play a sport the volunteers love has been a great experience for everyone.
We had a very special visitor at the Price office last week. After an article about Price’s successes appeared in the newspaper, we received a letter from a gentleman named Ted who had designed Price’s first logo back in the 1940s. Gerry Price was very moved by the letter and personally called Ted to arrange for him and his wife to come in to Price for a tour. Gerry picked them up, and they had a fun afternoon reflecting on how far things have come in 60 years! Check out our behind the scenes footage from Ted’s visit to Price below. Thanks to Ted and Moira for sharing their afternoon (and their memories) with us.
If you follow us on twitter you likely saw that last night Price was honored with an award for our Health & Wellness program, “Well from Within.” Our Wellness Coordinator Robyn accepted the award last night at the Human Resources Management Association of Manitoba’s Excellence in Leadership Awards. The award criteria was for the successful organization to demonstrate a positive approach in improving a company’s ability to attract and retain people through various initiatives, including: effective communication strategies, innovative benefit programs, providing a challenging or unique work environment, effective rewards and recognition, work/life balance, and displaying a high level of employee engagement and morale. We are very proud to help contribute to happy and healthy employees – check out the twitvid of our big ”winning moment” here!
A big thank you to HRMAM for this honor!
